COURSES ON TRAUMA IN CHILDHOOD
-
ACES, Trauma and Stress Level 1 - 2
A truly essential course for anyone working with children in any capacity what so ever. This course is informed by lived experience and provides an excellent insight into Adverse Childhood Experiences. It explores the key principles of trauma and begins by making participants aware of the prevalence of child abuse. It emphasises the need to minimise the risk of re-traumatisation. Informing practice and embedding the five key principles of trauma into your service is an essential component of your work and we demonstrate how you can evidence your knowledge and understanding. We also explore intergenerational trauma and poverty. Some astonishing facts will be discussed including how trauma impacts on life, the impact on brain development, the physical illness that could be attributed to trauma. We are also able to provide participants with robust statistical information, including information on the window of tolerance and resilience. We then look at behaviour and how children may present or appear. There is a host of ideas and strategies you might use to help support a family in crisis taught in this course. Without a doubt anyone in any role and in any capacity should consider this course.
